How to love and care?

Day 3

How to love and care?

Crucially, among entire events recorded in the gospel of Matthew notably says that the first thing Matthew did after his call was he invited Jesus in his house for a feast (Luke 5: 27-32). Matthew filled the place only with a huge number of his fellow "tax collectors and sinners". When Jesus was criticized for associating with them, he replied, "Those who are well does not need a physician, but the sick." And in the paraphrase of the words of Micah 6: 6-8, Jesus answered them by saying that "I do not seek sacrifice but mercy, as I have not come to call the righteous but the sinners."

Matthew has taught us how to love and care for our friends, colleagues and the people we are associating with. After his encounter with Jesus, his first initiative was to invite Jesus to his home because he knew that his friends were also in dire need of Jesus. We should not be afraid to reach out the people who are living in sin. God's message changes the people's heart. Matthew once forgot his true calling but proved by his deeds that he was still a Levite. Matthew had the 'heart of the gospel. And you??
