He is my best friend

Daily Morning Devotion

Day 2

He is my best friend

God is also willing to call his faithful friends. The Bible states that Abraham was not only a servant of God but also a friend (Isaiah 41:8, James 2: 23). Jesus moved one step closer in relationship with His disciples and said, "I no longer call you a servant, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you my friend, because I have made known to you Everything that I have heard from my Father "(John 15: 15). Indeed, servants are called to obey and they do not know what is in their master's heart and mind. But friendship demands openness, transparency, trust, love, etc., and God in Jesus Christ opened up his life to his disciples, who ate with him, lived with him, and served him for more than three years, and had a great and rich experience of life with their master.

A true friend is closer than a brother (Proverbs 18: 24). This is what God is expecting from us. God wants us to be his best friend. He has opened his life for us. But many times we don't want to be close with him. We may have the high respect for him, adore Him and even declare our loyalty with him, but we do not want to make him our best friend. We do not want him to interfere in our lives. Friendship with God is a benefit, not a loss. He is our best friend and he gives us security, safety and guidance. And our responsibility to Him is to humbly dedicate our lives to Him and obey Him and be under His leadership.
