How much time should we spend with the Lord?

How much time should we spend with the Lord?

The discipline of "quite time" is not easy. You will have to make many sacrifices like: your time, your entertainment and sleep, and many more things. What is quite time? It's just a simple time to get away from everything and build a relationship, get to know someone more intimately and take time to grow in love and trust. It means leaving aside everything each day to be alone with God - only you and God - no one else. This is your daily appointed time with God, away from the various responsibilities and the distractions. Probably quite time is never quite. You are either meditating and listening to God or talking with Him. Some do it in their minds, others murmuring softly, and others do it out with loud voices. Therefore, quite time means living alone with God. It is the time to set aside to meet the Spirit of God face to face.

When our Lord Jesus was on earth, Quite time with the Father was His regular routine discipline. Most of the time, Jesus would choose the morning hour when he was fresh. We see between father and son had always interdependence  John :5:19-20. It seems that Jesus felt the need to see and have unceasing communion with the Father constantly every day. He received daily fresh strength, new encouragement and guidance from his father. He came into the day with the authority, faith and confidence. How much time should we spend with the Lord? I think this is the right time to make our decision to have unceasing communion with God to receive daily fresh strength, new encouragement and guidance from The Lord.
