Day 11
God is in control of everything
Jesus and his disciples got into the boat and went across the lake. Jesus was tired and exhausted and fell asleep as they boarded on the ship. The Sea of Galilee which is known for its sudden squalls. Here, on that day, a sudden storms struck the boat that day. But Jesus could afford to sleep because his disciples were fisherman of the lake and He must have been content to leave things to their skill and seamanship. But at this time the storm was very strong for the disciple to handle. The disciples were not able to control it, so they became frightened and woke Jesus up telling Him that they were about to drown. At this, he got up and rebuked the wind and the raging water and everything became still. Then Jesus had questioned His disciples, "Where is your faith?" The disciple frightened and startled, and they began to discussed with one another as to who the man was and that even the storms and waves would obey his commands.
This storm would also test the faith of the disciples. While Jesus was sleeping, he was with them in the boat. They did not have enough faith to believe that the storm wouldn't harm them. God allows hardships and difficulties to come into our lives only to reassure us of our faith in Him. We must believe that His Holy Spirit is with us and that He is in control over our lives no matter what situation we face.
Sometimes God allows difficult or stormy trials to come into our lives, only to reassure our faith in Him.
