Day 12
Jesus is always willing to help us
Luke 23: 39-43
There are two thieves on the cross; One on the left and the other on the right of Jesus. Both were crucified because of their crime. We don't know their crime but they got a definite punishment for it. One criminal said, "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us." He knew Christ as Savior but with personal benefit , to be freed from that punishment. He wanted to use Christ when he was needed for his selfish motives. But he was reprimanded by another man, because his intention was not right. Another thief, on the other hand, believed that Christ was God and begged him to remember him when he would come into his kingdom.
Even until his last hour, another thief may recognizes Christ as God's provision for them as their Savior. He knew his situation and he accepted the punishment as part of his deeds. During his last hour he finds himself being crucified next to a person who punished without any mistake on his part i.e., Jesus Christ being the only Savior. He believed in him and whispered Jesus Christ to remember in heaven. Even if we are going through a hopeless situation right now, let us whisper to Jesus who is always willing to help us at any moment.
