Day 8

Be courageous

We know the story of how Pharaoh's daughter found Moses floating in the river. Any woman's heart couldn't resist the cry of the cute little boy. Maybe he was hungry and wet. It was Jochebed who placed his son on the bank of the river Nile. She was quite scared and fearfully watching the fate of the precious child which she had borne and the rough basket that she had made. His sister Miriam was also nearby to see what would happen to him. Pharaoh's daughter had come to take bath in the same bank. When the princess saw the little boy crying inside the basket, she was sad and felt sorry for the child. She told the baby's sister to go and find a woman to nurse the baby. So the girl had gone and got the baby's mother. So the woman had taken her child to her home and nursed him. This little boy later changed the fate of the world. (Exodus 2 : 1-10)

Pharaoh brutally tried to destroy Israel, but his own daughter had a pity on a Hebrew boy and not only so, but, without knowing it, they preserved Israel's deliverer. We are all surrounded by the evil things of this world. And sometimes we give up and loose our hope. But we see the heart of brave Jochebed; She became courageous. She searched for a way along with a lot of courage. God put her son in Pharaoh's house only because of her courageous deeds. Trust God to use your little effort and rely only in Him for He will definitely make a way for you.
