Why "Good" Friday instead of "Bad" Friday?

Why "Good" Friday instead of "Bad" Friday?

Some of them think it as evolved from the old name, "God's Friday."

Why do we call this day good, when it reminds us of the day of suffering and death of Jesus.

Whatever the origin, the name of Good Friday is perfectly appropriate because Jesus' suffering and death, as terrible as it was, is the dramatic conclusion of God's plan to save His people from their sins.

Good Friday is a crucial day of the year for the Christian because it used to celebrates every year and what we consider the day is the most important weekend in the history of the world. Since the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Christian proclamation of the cross and resurrection has been a turning point for all the creation. Paul considered the fact that Jesus died, was buried, and resurrected on the third day for our sins and it is to be the "first importance", as God had promised in the Scriptures (1Corinthians 15: 3).

Similarly, Good Friday is "good" and on the other side it is despairing and terrible the day was, But It was for us to receive the joy of Easter. God's wrath against sin was to be poured out on Jesus, the final sacrifice to pour out the forgiveness and redemption of nations. It is not possible for us to have a beautiful life without the suffering, grief, and the bloodshed of Jesus on the cross.

The day seemed to be the greatest victory of the evil, in fact a deathblow in God's glorious good plan to free us from the slavery and bondages.

On Good Friday we remember the day Jesus willingly died on the cross and died as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 1:10) Then there is a day of Easter, the glorious celebration of the day that Jesus rose from the dead, describing his victory over sin and death, indicating to the future resurrection of all who are united in the faith through him. (Romans 6:5)

In fact, Jesus came to earth deliberately to put himself in the hook of human failure and suffering. His suffering and death on the cross is a deep consolation and strength to face the cruel realities of our lives on earth. And we can be sure that He is with us even in our worst times. Although it is not just his suffering and death, but his resurrection gives us hope that our suffering will not go in vain. His resurrection assures us that human suffering and death lead to a new life. God is able to turn our failure into blessing (Genesis: 50:20) and to let evil work for good (Romans 8:28). And the most paradigmatic example is the cross and the resurrection of Christ.
