Escape from the sin which often knocked you down
Joseph faced a vicious temptation designed by the evil to destroy him and God's plan for his life. Joseph was far from his home in a strange land. He was young and had normal sexual drive. The sexual temptation sin is one of the strongest and most difficult for a young person to overcome. The Josephs’ temptation was with someone above him, and the person was his master's wife. And it wasn’t merely a one-time temptation but it was repeated daily. For Joseph, all these factors combined made it a great temptation.
How did Joseph overcome sexual temptation?
Joseph recognized the nature of a sin. He realized that sleeping with this woman was not a personal issue for himself but an issue with God. All sin is eventually against God. Not only did Joseph recognize the nature of sin, he also escaped from the temptation.
Genesis 39:10 states that "he refused to be with her." But even more than that when the woman tried to insist Joseph to sin with her, "He ran away"(v.12)
There are times in our lives when we have to stand firm and resist temptation but there is also a time to escape from the sin!
The Bible says in 2 Tim. 2:22, "Flee from the evil desires of youth," Read (1 Tim: 6:11)
We need a wisdom of God to discern the things when we need to stand and fight or when we need to fight by running. We know it very well that the evil don't want to see us growing and blooming, They design something vicious temptations to destroy us and prevent the plans of God for our life. During this moment remember the story of Joseph and try to recognized the nature of a sin. Because all the sin is ultimately against our God. Let's flee away from the sin which disappoints our Father(Jesus Christ).
