Persistent will and faith will surely change our life.

Persistent will and faith will surely change our life.

Mark 10:46-52

Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho and on their way to Jerusalem they heard a blind beggar named Bartimaeus says, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" (Mark 10:47). By calling Jesus "the son of David," the blind man was affirming his belief that Indeed Jesus was the Messiah (2 Samuel 7:14-16), People told Bartimaeus to calm down, but he shouted louder and persistently even louder than before. This is another proof of his faith along with the proclamation of Jesus’ identity as the Messiah, the blind man showed faith in Jesus' goodness and believed that he would be kind towards poor and needy. Jesus heard his cries and told his disciples to call Bartimaeus. The blind man jumped to his feet and went to Jesus. Jesus asked, What do you want from me to do for you?
I think Bartimaeus could ask Jesus for money or food but his faith was greater than that. The blind Bartimaeus said, Rabbi, I want to see.(Mark‬ ‭10:51‬‬‬)
He had a will to see, and He ran to Jesus along with that will. He did not prefix his petition with a list of the good deeds he had done or with any false humility.
Bartimaeus revealed his will towards Jesus, Believing that only Jesus could understand him and being able to fulfill his will. Jesus said to him, "Go, your faith has healed you," and instantly Bartimaeus received his sight and followed Jesus.

Jesus emphasizes the need for faith by saying, "Your faith has healed you." Blind Bartimaeus had the kind of faith that pleases God. Jesus once again showed that “God rewards those who earnestly seek him and without faith we cannot pleases God." (Hebrews 11:6)
Blind Bartimaeus understood this truth. He diligently sought the Lord, and through his faith he began to see the beautiful creation of God.

Lessons: Sometimes our situations knocks us down and won’t let us yell out for help as we can see in Bartimaeus’s story, People were not  letting him to yell out for help. but he shouted even louder than before. And ultimately his persistent faith, cries and especially his will made him see.  Sometimes When situation hits us hard and won’t let us yell for help, let’s yell out louder for mercy along with faith and will, believing that certainly Jesus will stop for us and will hear our cry and call us closer to Him and ask us what do you want from me? Persistent will and faith will surely change our life.
