Jesus invites you to come to Him as you are now

The Scripture clearly teaches us that Jesus did not come to condemn anyone in this world, but to save the sinners (John 3:17). When Jesus called Matthew a tax collector to follow him, Matthew immediately answered Jesus' call (Mark 2:13-17). The tax collectors were most hated and considered as a grievous sinners because they not only collected taxes for the Roman government but also collected more than what they should be collecting. In the evening, Matthew invited all his friends to a banquet to announce his conversion, and also created an opportunity for Jesus to preach his friends. Perhaps, it was his farewell party for his old job and joining a new vocation.

The Pharisees and Scribes, the so-called righteous ones, did not like it. Moreover, they criticized Jesus and his disciples for sitting and eating with sinners. But Jesus answered them, by telling that "It is a sick man who needs a doctor. Therefore, his coming was not to call the righteous, but the sinners those who repent". In his Pastor's letter to Timothy, Paul also claims that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, of whom he was the foremost (1 Timothy 1: 12-16). It doesn't matter what situation you are in today. You think that there's no chance to be forgiven, and there's no way you can get out of it. But today Jesus invites you to come to Him as you are now.
