Do you genuinely feel sorry for your sins?
The Bible says that no one is righteous, not even one (Romans 3:10). If we claim to have never sinned, we are deceiving ourselves (1 John 1:8). So the best thing we can do is accept it that we are Sinners, recognize the sin that is in us and with our broken and tainted hearts come before the Lord Jesus, He will surely have a cure for our sins. God will never deny a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17). No matter how good we are, if the attitude of our heart is not right, our outward actions will never please the Lord.
The story of the Prodigal Son inspires us (Luke 15:11-32). He deliberately ruined his life to stay away from his father. When everything was lost and gone, he realized his mistakes. He regretted, turned back and returned to his father. Seeing his son from a distance, the father ran and hugged him before the prodigal son could even confess. Such is the love of our God.
Do you genuinely feel sorry for your sins?
Well done! You passed the first qualification.
Jesus has already given us a privilege to be his son/daughter, now it’s our responsibility to make our father proud.
