The reason of Job's suffering was a mystery
The reason of Job's suffering was a mystery to everyone. Job's wife did not understand, His friends did not understand why he was suffering. Job himself did not understand too why he was suffering so much. He was confused with so many questions. (Job 9: 28-35) Why? Sixteen times Job asked, "Why am I suffering?" "Why God is allowing this happen to me?" Job questioned "Why Lord?". Gradually, he began to doubt God's love and his goodness. When Job asked this question "Why, God?" In the midst of his pain and suffering he was unable to find God. (Job 23:1-9) The pain and suffering made him so distraught that he could not feel God's presence in the midst of his pain. He felt lonely and abandoned by God. Job's greatest struggle was not about the pain and suffering but he wasn't being able to find God in the midst of his suffering, It was more painful than the physical and emotional pain that literally he was feeling.
One of the hardest or tough spiritual truth in the book of Job is: God sometimes allows his people to suffer without explanation. So many people wrongly believe that being a Christian saves you from all the sufferings and pains. So when the time comes of temptations and struggles, they often question God's goodness and love. Faith in God cannot prevent any trials; But Faith in God refuges us from the midst of our trials and sufferings. Our Almighty God can save us from every problem, but sometimes He allows us to go through the trials but for a reason which are beyond our comprehension. God is in control even when we don't understand it.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, we know that we can't control our condition and our situations that we are currently dealing with but you can. We surrender our life before you.
