We are His church!
"Do you go to church?" I truly hope that you go to... We're told not to quit coming together as Christians (Hebrews 10:25). When we gather as a body of Christ, however, we do so for the sake of encouraging each other and to be encountered with God together. We should keep in our mind that a church is nothing more than a building if no one gathers out there. We are His church! (The word "church" has never been used in the New Testament to refer to the building!) But now the things to be remembered God cautioned his people in the Old Testament that just going to places of worship was worthless. Rather, they needed to identify him from the closest! That, I truly believe, is exactly what God intends from us. And as we seek Him together, we have the opportunity to enjoy fellowship, joy, and encouragement.
Prayer
Dear Father, As We face the challenges of this week, it is heartening to know that We are not far from your kindness and love. However, We treasure those amazing moments when We meet other Christians and feel your presence together. We know you're always with us when we gather, but sometimes our heart, our circumstances, or the activities in our church family make it difficult for us to recognize your presence. We pray that our Sunday service this week will be exciting and powerful. We pray that you will be definitely present there. We pray that what my brothers and sisters and I do to strengthen and encourage one another will always give you glory and honor. Please use us for your kingdom and bring us closer to you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
