WhatsApp will be accessible to anyone with a smartphone who has Android OS 4.1 or higher, or iOS 10 or higher. Facebook-owned WhatsApp messaging app, which will be unavailable on most handsets from November 1 to 10. You will be unable to send or receive messages, photographs, or videos on your old smartphone if WhatsApp is blocked.

Before the expiration date, make sure the software version on your phone meets the requirements or not.


What happens if your device isn't supported? 

After November 1, if your phone does not fulfill the above requirements, your account may be automatically locked out, and you will not be able to log in again from an unsupported device. WhatsApp also states on its website that you will be unable to restore/retrieve your communication history if you switch from an old kaiOS-based handsets.

 

How can I know what version of Android or iOS I have? 

Open the Settings app on your iPhone and Android phone and scroll down to explore phone settings to check your iOS version and Android version. To find the 'Android version' option, tap to open its subsections and look for the 'Android version' option. On iOS, you can open the Settings app and navigate to the General / About / Software version.
